Privacy policy

THOUSAND HANDS (“we”, “us”) builds automation and custom software for businesses. This policy explains what information we collect through 1000hands.ca, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you send the contact form, we receive:

• your name and email address
• your company name or website
• anything you write in your message

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the email. Like almost every website, our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and the site doesn’t set cookies. Your browser stores one small value for the length of your visit so that, when you return from a case study, the home page opens where you left it. It isn’t sent to us.

How we use it

We use the information you send us only to:

• reply to you and arrange your consultation
• prepare and send a proposal if you ask for one
• deliver and support any work we agree to do together

We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t add you to a mailing list without asking.

Who we share it with

We rely on a few service providers to run the site and handle email:

• Vercel hosts the website.
• Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
• Google Workspace hosts our email.

They process information only on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as we need them to work with you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will unless we’re required to keep it.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to our inbox and accounts is restricted and protected with strong authentication, and we only ask for the information we need.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent and have it deleted. Emailanthony@1000hands.ca and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
